Default More Pre-Searing titles?

Hmm, why not give the newbies/perma-pre/random pre-goers a bit more to work for in Pre Searing, because everyone enjoys the scenery and the only other way to find a place like that is the Charr Homelands and then you'd have to be EoTn etc.

I realise you already implemented Legendary Defender of Ascalon and the Green Charr Bags, A-Net, but why not expand it a little more, just to introduce newbies to titles or something like that.

Two that I can think of are

Cartographer of Ascalon for exploring 100% of Pre.

And a title that is given for completing all the quests available to your character (Not inc other secondary profession quests of course.) I haven't thought of a name for that one yet though.

I'm sure theres more, what does everyone else think?

You realize there is an entire community that would take offense to that statement.

On topic, some titles would be interesting however they should, as Mithran said, be purged once you leave Pre since they would be so easily attained, with the exception of LDoA.

You realize that entire community is silly for staying on that map with a level 20 character that already has Defender.

Well maybe they need to make a few 20+ titles?
Like popup able quests?

Or something like it, but dont make titles you will finish in 30 minutes ...

I like the pre searing because its beautiful

I hope they don’t add more titles anywhere. With around 140 title levels in the game the only place anyone can stand out as special is pre-searing.

Titles should only be for displaying a genuine elite status, like Legendary Defender of Ascalon, be something for others to aspire to and importantly, stand out in any outpost due to rarity.

The rest of the game is polluted by silly little titles, many gained by simple farming or worse still, by being afk. As it is now it’s more like party badges for children.

p.s. I don’t have any worth displaying as everyone else has them as well. I hate being common.

Legendary defender of ascalon (or what ever it is) is an afk title. Death leveling.

But anyways,

/signed, just different, harder titles. Maybe one for solo vanquishing every area with out dying or something?

it is, and the general chat is not used for trade spam, people actualy talk to each other and offer advice.

if they do create any pre titles, they need to be ones that you actusly need to do something for;the idea of the solo vanquishing sounds like the sort of idea that could be taken further.

i have a perma pre and have no issue with AFK death leveling to get LDoA.

Exactly! Titles should show elite status. Vanquishing in tyria, ELITE. Grandmaster cartographer, ELITE. Any of the legendary stuff, ELITE.

If they were purged upon moving to to the real game...then I would say thats fine. As long as you cant keep any title earned EXCEPt for LDoA.

/signed as above

-Tiki

On the other hand, its just promoting people to stay in low lvl areas instead of helping the population crisis on other locations...in case people havent noticed, the population is getting pretty thin in a lot of mission and location areas. Not good :S I think this might make it a tad worse.

CHRIST NO!

legendary cartographer, would be totally ruined. having got it on a different account, also having a mate that has it. this would totally bugger it all up, seeming as people from Factions / NightFall would not have access to it...also it would pretty much scrap all hopes of getting leg.cart to those who have already left pre. meaning they would have to make a new char. to get the title!

not fair on those who have grinded leg.cart already to see their efforts go up in smeg!

These would not be accessable to people who only own NF and/or Factions
I think Anet would be wasting time doing something thats accessable to very few people
LDoA was only added because of the people that stayed and pre-searing was never designed to have level 20's in it, the players made that method, Anet didn't think of it till after people had done it

Pre-Searing Ascalon was meant as a tutorial area to learn the very basics about the game of Guild Wars. Perhaps because Post Searing Ascalon was so depressing or because Pre-Searing had a unique look at the time (The Charr Northlands now share a very similar look) a small community of people began to form that decided to stay in Pre-Sear.

ArenaNet has done more than many other developers would bother to consider. They not only gave "Perma-Pre" characters an excellent title to earn but also little goodies like Charr Bags and Charr Salvage kits.

Asking to put more and more and more into a tutorial area would be absolutely selfish and would detract support for the other 99% of the game world.

Remember, it was originally designed to be a tutorial area. Not an entire continent or campaign.

The only problem on adding things there is when people bring them to Post-searing.

Titles can be removed (as we see hen the survivor is stoped before rank1)

So just making them banish when you leave presearing (the character actually has to spend 2 years there, many thngs can happend then) so with that, ther won't be any problem.

hell NOOOOOOO

forget this shit, when will those people learn, that pre searing is ONLY a stupid TUTORIAL and nothing more.

LDoA was only put into the game, because Anet hadn't expected/believed, that anyone would ever stay so long in the pre searing, only for reaching lvl 20 there by ****** boring braindead afk death leveling.

Making more titles in Pre is simple not fair for all old characters, who have left pre and can't go back to it naturally.

The only thing, that should happen, before I would sign this silliest Idea if the silliest ideas ever should be a way for all players, to time travel back to pre searing, so that every character would have a chance to get the titles ...

But such a thing would make the LDoA worthless (in the end its so or so worthless) by players time traveling with level 20 back to pre, becoming insta LDoA, making quick the other titles and warping back ...

Titles should be something special, no shit, that players can make maxed within a half day or so ... and as mentioned, they should show Elite Status ...

lDoA don't shows me that someone is elite, only other than elite in afk dying oO and thats only pityful. Its pityful to get a title for something like this and I'd love to get to see the LDoA getting erased from the titles, because thats the most senseless title of all.

To recompense people for stupid afk deaths oO thats NO effort to be called "elite", thats only brain ******* CHEAP.

Imo really LDoA should be erased and pre searing should force people to leave the tutorial withing a given time limit after start of the tutorial. When not done, then the charr will simple overwhelm Ascalon and kill your character forever, because they will hack you in 1000 pieces, after they have cut off your silly had, that had thought it could stay ever in pre and the Charr would simple do nothing, while they are in a massive advantage of numbers at the begin of the war. When your character got then killed in this tutorial, players simple have to create so long new characters, until they went finally with one further -.-

Simple do this Anet, or give us players a way to rebuild Ascalon to its original point.
When there exists such a mighty magic, that can destroy such a huge land around Ascalon, then there can exist too a strong magic, which is able to regenerate the land ...

I personally ask my, why the people simple don't ask Melandru for help, so that she will heal the lands and will give the dead lands together with Dwayna new life forces, so that the burnt earth n trees will vanish and life will bloom again in Ascalon.

Would be imo good stuff for a new free add on stuff like the furnish of sorrows.
simple some quests, that will renew the burnt Ascalon to its old state again, makeable, after players have played through prophecies.

This idea is really selfish, when making something about pre searing and ascalon, than make something, everyone can have something from, and that would be only to give us a way to rebuild Ascalon or to time travel to it pre searing form. The "more easier" way that contains lesser programming but then people must ask, what will be then the reason to time travel back to the pre searing ?

when making a time travel into the game, the thing should make sense and the reason shouldn't be
"because we want to be there and we love this place most".

In the end id prefer 1000 times more, when people would get the possibility to rebuild Ascalon (even to improve it to make it better and greater then before) by quests, which will bring new life into the destroyed lands, quests where the players need to brign certain sums of certain materials to create new buildings to Ascalon.

There should be only a change in the system, while players are at rebuilding Ascalon, that the town changes while you rebuild it into an instanced ruin.
Then there could be features in GW for rebuilding ascalon like in the PS2 game Dark Cloud 2 (Chronicles)
Players have then to make quests to unlock new possibilities of buildings ect to rebuild the town, quests to receive certain special needed materials and so on ...

I think it would be really one of the last most interesting upcoming features of Guild Wars to rebuild the destroyed Ascalon in an personal instance.
this would be then 1 good way to bring in new titles for everyone like the "creator title track"

"Creator of Neo Ascalon" > 33% rebuild
"Great Creator of Neo Ascalon" > 66% rebuild
"Legendary Creator of Neo Ascalon" > 100% rebuild

something really better, than vanguisher of Ascalon or cartographer of Ascalon -.- which isn't part of cartographer of tyria, or ? lol

I think new titles in pre would be a good idea although they would have to dissapear when you leave though. They could be something like tutorial titles that sort of show how titles work to new players and something extra to do in pre for others,

theoretically the survivor title is the pre searing introduction into titles, simple when people reach lvl 5 without dieing before ...

but imo this is a stupid thing and the title should start counting for a better solution direct with level 1
When players receive level 1, the survivor title will start and is then the introduction into titles ..

so implementing new titles for pre searing is absolute NONSENSE
